[June 2010] Oli Sorenson is invited by Austria's top VJs 4yourEye to show at Salon Projektionist, their new space in central Vienna. This is his first solo gallery exhbition since using the artist name Olivier Sorrentino. As a show title, Anti-Mapping is adding a new twist to the ever popular mapping VJ theme. Instead of offering a pixel perfect match between projection and physical objects, Sorenson proposes more dalogue between the two by allowing accidental distortions, and effects reminiscent of optical art in painting.

[Ongoing] VJing and AV performance are now at the crest of another popularity wave, unseen since the early 2000s, judging by the recent attendance records in workshops and tutorials. Magnifying this enthusiasm, Ne1co is continuing its series of workshops in Oxford, as well as sporadic sessions within selected institutions. The most exciting project coming up is with AVin, an online tutorial program curated by LightRhythm Visuals, due live by the end of 2010. [join the Oxford workshops] [top]

Sorenson re-initiated his THX remix project
with Dan Tait,
launched at Dark Fibre and also featured at this year's Big Chill (cinema
tent). THX1138 is George Lucas' first feature film, fist released in 1970.
Within the 60-minute performance, Dan and Oli completely tear open the

The result is a refreshing view on an obscure cult classic, to be enjoyed in
club ready environments.

[2008] Ne1co was invited in April at Tate Britain, then in November at Tate Liverpool, to host special editions of The AV Social, within the Late At Tate
series. Tate Britain showed a selection of ambient and low impact audiovisual work alongside
"Return of the Gods" their then-current exhibition of neo-classical statues and busts. The AV Social's restrained performances co-habited in tone and subject
matter with the scultures, whilst offering elegant contrasts between classical and contemporary imaging
techniques. The 4,000 visitors of the one-day event were presented with installation from
Black Out Arts, Bopa and Bruno Tait, Hiraki Sawa, as well as performances from Lazerboy,
Movement, Dr Mo, and Oli Sorenson. Narrative Lab presided in the Manton Room, to showcase
a new screening of video art. In Liverpool, Ne1co's selection of AV performers provided a festive backdrop for the Liverpool Biennale opening. [view

networking between DJs,
VJs and AV industry professionals.
Programmed artists included The Light Surgeons, Meat Katie, AddictiveTV, 30 Hz, Vandal,
Eclectic Method, D-Fuse, VJ Anyone, Ben Sheppee and many more. [view
